The following qualifications are required to run for office:
The Mayor and each of the councilmembers, and any other elective officers, shall be a citizen of the United States of America and a qualified voter of the State of Texas; shall reside within the corporate limits of the City of Harker Heights; and shall not be in arrears in the payment of any taxes or any other liability due the City or be disqualified by reason of provisions of any other section of the City charter. A member of the council ceasing to possess any of the qualifications specified in this section, or any other section of the charter, or convicted of a felony while in office shall immediately forfeit his/her office.
Filing for Place on the Ballot – Begins on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, and ends on Friday, February 12th, 2021.
Early Voting by personal appearance will be conducted at Harker Heights City Hall, located at 305 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, Texas 76548 from:
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 19th, April 20th, 21st, 23rd, and 27th, 2021
and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on April 22nd, and 26th, 2021.Election Day will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 1st, 2021 at the:

If you are not a registered voter for Bell County and wish to become a registered voter, you may come by the City of Harker Heights City Hall at 305 Miller’s Crossing or the Public Library at 400 Indian Trail, Harker Heights, Texas 76548 and speak with a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar to obtain and complete a Voter Registration Application. Any registered voter that needs to make changes to their voter registration information may also speak with a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar to make any necessary changes.
The deadline to become a registered voter for the May 1st, 2021 Municipal Election is Thursday, April 1st, 2021.
