Killeen Independent School District
KISD proudly serves the communities of Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, and Nolanville.
The student enrollment as of September 1, 2010, stood at 40,125, with approximately half
of those enrolled being military family members. The district's more than 6,200 staff members
are dedicated to ensuring student success.

Waste Management Information
Waste Management does not pick up bulk piles of brush or bulky items (i.e. refrigerators or sofas) placed at the curb.  Residents may take excessive brush or bulky items to the drop off site located at 1761 E. City Council Meetings
City Council Meetings are normally held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
City Workshop Meetings are normally held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Both meetings are held in the Kitty Young Council Chambers at Harker Heights City Hall.

The Texas Electric Choice Education Program website is where you can learn about electric competition in Texas and obtain information to help you make informed decisions about your electricity service and Retail Electric Provider.

Millions of Texans have exercised their right to pick their Retail Electric Provider and a plan that is right for them. With a wide variety of electricity products and plans available in the marketplace, you may find a plan that provides you with significant savings or provide more certainty than your current plan. You may also want to consider switching to an electricity product that uses primarily renewable energy. Some Retail Electric Providers also have other value-added services like air conditioning maintenance, rewards programs, or other customer service benefits. However, switching may not be for you if you are happy with your current REP or are currently receiving service under a long-term contract.
