The City of Harker Heights will begin construction this week on an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking and accessibility improvement project at Purser Family Park through a contract with B-Corp Utilities, Inc. and Kasberg, Patrick, and Associates, LP.
The project will retrofit existing parking and pedestrian areas near the dog park to:
- Increase the number of accessible (ADA) parking spaces.
- Install new accessible parking pavement markings and signage.
- Retrofit sidewalk areas and curb ramps to improve accessibility.
During construction, residents and park users should expect temporary impacts to portions of the parking areas and sidewalks adjacent to the dog park, as well as construction equipment, noise, and other temporary construction activity.
The City of Harker Heights appreciates your patience and cooperation as we make these improvements to enhance accessibility throughout our community.
