Finance Department

The responsibility of the Finance Department is to develop and implement financial accounting policies and procedures, to protect and optimize the financial resources of the City, and to provide a sound accounting system for safeguarding the City’s assets through the recording and reporting of financial transactions in a manner consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and legally mandated standards.

Included in the Finance Department are the budgeting and auditing functions, investments, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, and utility accounting and collection.

We are located in the City Hall Building at 305 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, TX 76548. Our hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our phone numbers are as follows:

After 5 p.m. or on weekends, a $50 fee will be assessed for calls made to the after hours line with the exception of water emergencies.
