The Harker Heights Ability Sports program provides recreational opportunities for youth and young adults with intellectual disabilities. It was established in 2010 as an extension of the City of Harker Heights’ Paralympic Sports program. We are an all-inclusive program for children between the ages of 5 and 22. Our participant’s disabilities range from autism and Asperger’s to Downs Syndrome to cerebral palsy. Whether it is through participation, advocacy or coaching, we encourage everyone to get involved!

REGISTRATION

• Opens November 3rd 
• Cost is $20 per participant
• Register online https://secure.rec1.com/TX/harker-heights-tx/catalog or in person at the Harker Heights Recreation Center (307 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, TX 76548)

VOLUNTEER

• Fill out Volunteer packet and turn in at Recreation Center
• All volunteers will have a copy made of their Driver’s License and be background checked

• All events will be held at the Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, TX 76548

LEAGUE INFO

• League meets on Mondays from January 12th – February 23rd 
• Time will be 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.
• Ages 5 – 22 with special needs
• February 23rd will be the end of season party at Canes (335 Knight's Way, Harker Heights, TX 76548)

EQUIPMENT

• Basketballs are provided by Harker Heights Parks and Recreation
• Participants must have closed toed non-marking athletic shoes
• Shorts without pockets are highly recommended
• Closed top bottles for drinks are required
