2025 Youth Volleyball Details

REGISTRATION

• December 9, 2024 – February 10, 2025 * or until slots are full
• Register online – https://secure.rec1.com/TX/harker-heights-tx/catalog
• Register in-person at Harker Heights Recreation Center (307 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, TX 76548)
• Season starts April 14, 2025- To start the season on time, we will need all coaches background checks to be cleared, submit your packet as soon as possible to be processed in a timely manner. 

DIVISIONS (PARTICIPANT AGE AS OF APRIL 1, 2025)

• 10U (8 – 10 years old)
• 12U (11 – 12 years old)
• 14U (13 – 14 years old)

*To ensure fairness of play, a minimum number of 4 teams are required per division.

SPECIAL REQUEST

• Please indicate during registration if children have siblings in the same age division to be placed on the same team.
• NO REQUESTS will be granted for 10U, 12U, 14U volleyball divisions.
• Participants whose parent or guardian is a head coach will automatically be a protected player and will be assigned that coach’s team.

COACHING

• All Head and Assistant Coaches must complete a Volunteer Coach Packet and return it to the Recreation Center. Maximum of 3 coaches per team.
• All volunteers will have a color copy made of their state issued ID and be background checked.
• Head coaches will receive 50% refund of registration at the end of the season, and all equipment turned back into the Rec Center.

LEAGUE FORMAT

• All age divisions will play a minimum 8-game regular season.
• 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions will have Playoffs at the End of Season.
• All teams have a minimum player participation rule for all players in all divisions.

SEASON

• Practices and games will be scheduled at the Harker Heights Recreation Center.
• Practices will begin the week of April 14, 2025.
• Games will begin the week of May 5, 2025.

EQUIPMENT

• Team shirts will be provided for all participants.
• Participants will supply kneepads (mandatory) shorts (respectful lengths shorts) (no pockets, belt loops or drawstrings if possible), non-marking shoes,
• Coaches will receive a coach shirt.
• Please ensure shirt sizes are correct at registration as re-orders will not be available.

TEAM FORMATION

• 10U, 12U, 14U volleyball divisions will be drafted.
• Coaches in drafted divisions must have their 3 protected players (1 should be head coach’s child) submitted to coordinators prior to the player assessments March 1st, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
• Protected player submissions received after 9:00 a.m. on March 1, 2025, will not be considered.
• Teams will be formed and contact information for players will be given to coaches once they are approved after coaches’ meetings. No later than one-week after the coaches meeting.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER SKILL ASSESSMENT

• Location: Harker Heights Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights, TX 76548
• Saturday, March 1, 2025
• We will only conduct assessments if we have enough coaches for the team in each division
• 10U Last Name A-Z: 9:00 a.m- 10:30 a.m.
• 12U Last Name A-Z: 10:30 a.m-12:00 p.m.
• 14U Last Name A-L: 12:00 p.m.- 1:30 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL COACHES MEETINGS AND DRAFT

• 10U – March 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
• 12U – March 4. 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
• 14U – March 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
