Waste Management Changes & Information

The disposal procedures for residential brush and bulky items are changing effective March 8, 2021. Also, commercial accounts will have a monthly fuel cost adjustment effective July 31, 2008. To learn more about these changes please click on the following link: Waste Management Changes & Information.

Currently, all solid waste disposal is contracted through Centex Waste Management. Harker Heights residents have trash pick-up twice a week. To know your schedule, click here for an updated trash schedule or please contact City Hall at (254) 953-5600.

Important things to remember:

  • Construction/demolition debris, including rock, dirt, concrete, brick, scrap building material, or other trash resulting from remodeling, resulting from a general cleanup of vacant or improved property will NOT be picked up by Centex as part of your regular service. Contact the local Centex office to see if a contracted pickup can be arranged.
  • Hazardous waste, such as paint and pesticides, may be disposed of in small quantities through the regular garbage disposal. Wet paint is not permitted; cans must be opened and paint dried out prior to disposal.

For questions or concerns regarding your trash service, please contact Centex Waste Management at (800) 800-5804. At any time, also feel free to contact the City of Harker Heights at (254) 953-5600.
